Värmdö is the meeting place of the archipelago, offering a unique combination of nature's quiet beauty and a more urban lifestyle. Our mission is not just one but many: schools, properties, social services, harbors, healthcare, libraries, elderly care, and many more. We work to ensure that all residents of Värmdö can live a rich and free life. We want to be the ones who make the dream of a vibrant, secure environment for homes, families, and businesses possible.
To succeed fully, we need diverse competencies and must work together to build a common and trust-based work culture, built on courageous, responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of the residents.
Our Operations
"Ung i Värmdö" (Youth in Värmdö) is a unit within the Culture and Leisure Department that works to create participation, influence, and a meaningful leisure time together with young people in Värmdö.
Ung i Värmdö consists of several operational areas that collaborate and jointly develop the activities:
- Open leader-led youth activities consist of four location-based meeting points with geographical spread, one of which is run by an external actor on behalf of the municipality, a mobile meeting point, and a digital arena where young people can meet, create, and develop in a secure environment.
- Short-term supervision (KTT). On behalf of the Assistance Unit, Ung i Värmdö conducts short-term supervision for school-aged youth over 12 years old according to the Law on Support and Service for Certain Persons with Functional Impairments (LSS). The activity is partly integrated with the open youth activities.
- Youth dialogue and influence. The Youth Council VKung contributes democratic youth perspectives to the municipality's development work and serves as a link between young people, civil servants, and politicians. This area also includes initiatives like "Snabb slant," where young people are given the opportunity to apply for funding for their own projects and activities.
Ung i Värmdö actively works to strengthen young people's participation, influence, health, and hope for the future through collaboration with other municipal operations, civil society, and external actors.
Your Role
Short-term supervision (KTT) is an activity within Ung i Värmdö that operates according to the LSS for school-aged youth over 12 years old. The activity is based on the disability policy principles of self-determination, influence, participation, accessibility, continuity, and a holistic view.
At Tomtebo KTT, we create the conditions for a secure, accessible, and meaningful leisure time where the young people's needs, interests, and prerequisites are at the center. Through a promoting and inclusive approach, we strengthen the young people's independence, participation, and opportunity to develop at their own pace.
